First Lady Michelle Obama Announces New School Lunch Standards

For the first time in 15 years, big changes are being made in our school cafeterias. Earlier today, First Lady Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced new guidelines to improve nutritional standards for school lunches. With local movements, like our partners at the Healthy Schools Campaign, our collective efforts are creating measurable results!

Centered Chef hosts Teen Exodus mentorship program


In collaboration with Junior League of Chicago’s Teen Exodus program, Centered Chef hosted the ABC’s of Healthy Cooking workshop, for a group of inner-city girls from various Chicago neighborhoods.  JLC’s program focuses on empowering these young women in the areas of self-confidence and leadership through educational program initiatives.  Chef Ryan prepared Flank Steak Tacos with Fresh Salsa and Guacomole with the girls, which was a big hit!
